World War 1
On June 28, 1914, Archduke Franz Ferdinand began a visit to Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia. Sevral men from the neighboring country Serbia were waiting to kill him. These people were in an orginization called the Black Hand. Gavrillo Princip pulled out a pistol and shot him. The war had begun. New weapons introduced were airplanes, tanks, machine guns, and submarines. In 1917, when USA entered the war Russia left. After a year, the US and its allies had won. A Leauge of Nations was created to help hold the peace from then. It did not fulfill its job.
